Ghanaian all time hip hop artist, Tiny Bird of Money Game has said in an interview with Sadik Cybha on Sagani TV that artist in the Northern Region lacks knowledge about the music business.
The rapper earlier today was on Sagani TV’s North Arts program with Awhite Maiga to premiere “Lova” a new song by Maiga which featured himself.
In a reply to the host’s question about monetary commitments amongst each other on features and collaborations, the artist indicated that showbiz in Tamale is less monetized due to the unlearned nature of the artists.
“…about that, I can tell you that artists here are ‘zuuku artists’ (very ignorant) when it comes to monetizing the industry, for artists to pay for each others services is a norm in every music industry but Tamale’s own is an exception” he said
“…charge an artist today for a feature and the stories that will be told about you by them is unbelievable” he added.
The artist also recounts on some number of artists he has personally approached for features but was declined.
“…anybody that knows me will know that I like to do collaborations a lot more than doing solo tracks just so I can meet the listening pleasure of the fans, but I’ve personally approached many artist for their features and was turned down but I will not want to tell you who” he said
When the Jeweller was asked about the diamonds and gold chains, necklaces, rings and earrings he notably flaunts with, the rapper said he is into the jewellery business and sells them to other artist who may need them.
“I have more of them I use personally and some others I use for business, I sell some of them for others who may need them.. they’re purely diamonds, not the usual gold stuff you find in the streets here” he said.
